Dresdner Schriften zu Recht und Politik der Vereinten Nationen / Dresden Papers on Law and Policy of the United Nations

The „Dresden Papers on Law and Policy of the United Nations“ offer a platform for scientific research regarding the United Nations – including UN specialized agencies and regional organizations. They reflect in a legal and/or political scientific perspective the structure and work of the world organization and aim at examining the opportunities which exist in order to strengthen the UN system as a basis for a “world’s peace law” through governance. By doing so, the Dresden Papers wish to contribute to the field of “UN Studies” in research and teaching. Die Reihe "Dresdner Schriften zu Recht und Politik der Vereinten Nationen" bietet ein Forum für wissenschaftliche Forschung zum Themengebiet der Vereinten Nationen, eingeschlossen UN-Sonderorganisationen und Regionalorganisationen, welche in rechts- und/oder politikwissenschaftlicher Perspektive die Struktur sowie die Arbeitsweise der Weltorganisation abbildet. Im Rahmen der Reihe sollen Möglichkeiten untersucht werden, wie im Wege von Governance bzw. einer Verrechtlichung von globaler Ordnungspolitik das System der Vereinten Nationen als Grundlage eines "Weltfriedensrechts" gestärkt werden kann. Damit setzten sich die Dresdner Schriften auch zum Ziel, einen Beitrag zum Ausbau des jungen Fachgebiets "UN-Studien" in Forschung und Lehre zu leisten.

"The aim of the series is to place migration and ethnicity in the context of both local and global history. The comprehensive approach demands that both old and new migration patterns are dealt with. The notion of the Immigration threat calls for a debate on hopes and limits of the cultural pluralism in Europe and in North America. The issues which are addressed in the book series include among other: inter-ethnic relations; changing patterns of Community building, new sense of belonging, religion and ethnicity nowadays, construction and reinvention of identity, and trans-nationalism. Polish Studies in Culture, Nations and Politics

The “Polish Studies in Culture, Nations and Politics” series publishes monographs and collected volumes aimed at scholars working in Sociology, Political Sciences and History. The studies depict the formation of cultural identities, and their subsequent expression in historical, geographical and political contexts focusing on selected cases from Poland and the globalized world. The editor of the series Professor Joanna Kurczewska and her co-editor Dr. Yasuko Shibata both specialize in relations between culture, politics, locality and nationalism in the post-socialist systems. This series welcomes publications of European and also non-European scholars who specialize in theology, philosophy and history of religions. The series is intended to promote internationalization of the results of academic research on theological, philosophical and historical-religious questions. Contributions to the series may deal with both particular, narrow-range problems and synthetic, interdisciplinary issues. Likewise, the publications may refer to both systematic problems and more practical considerations. Especially welcome are scholarly works which deal with the significance of theological, philosophical and religious questions for modern Europe, thus enabling new ways of religion- and philosophy-based thinking about the European debates. The academic texts appearing in the series may have the forms of volume-length monographs, collections of articles, proceedings of academic societies, Festschriften, commemorative volumes as well as conference volumes.

L'’’Union européenne s'’’inscrit dès lors dans un processus d'’’adaptation constant. Des défis et des nouvelles demandes surviennent sans cesse, provenant à la fois de l’'’intérieur et de l'’’extérieur. La collection des « Cahiers du Collège d'’’Europe » publie les résultats des recherches menées sur ces thèmes au Collège d'’’Europe, au sein de ses deux campus (Bruges et Varsovie). Focalisés sur l'Union européenne et le processus d'’’intégration, ces travaux peuvent être spécialisés dans les domaines des sciences politiques, du droit ou de l’'’économie, mais ils sont le plus souvent de nature interdisciplinaire. La collection vise à approfondir la compréhension de ces questions complexes et contribue ainsi au débat européen. Nationalisms across the Globe

Although in the 1980s the widely shared belief was that nationalism had become a spent force, the fragmentation of the studiously non-national Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia in the 1990s into a multitude of successor nation-states reaffirmed its continuing significance. Today all extant polities (with the exception of the Vatican) are construed as nationstates, and hence nationalism is the sole universally accepted criterion of statehood legitimization. Similarly, human groups wishing to be recognized as fully fledged participants in international relations must define themselves as nations. This concept of world politics underscores the need for openended, broad-ranging, novel, and interdisciplinary research into nationalism and ethnicity. It promotes better understanding of the phenomena relating to social, political, and economic life, both past and present. This peer-reviewed series publishes monographs, conference proceedings, and collections of articles. It attracts well-researched, often interdisciplinary, studies which open new approaches to nationalism and ethnicity or focus on interesting case studies. The language of the series is usually English. The series is affiliated with the Institute for Transnational and Spatial History at the University of St Andrews, headed by Bernhard Struck and Tomasz Kamusella. The Institute gathers scholars with a strong interest in the comparative, entangled and transnational history of modern Europe and the globalized world.
