Scottish Studies International

The Scottish Studies International (SSI) series produced by the Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germersheim, Germany, publishes high-quality research work from across the broad and varied spectrum of Scottish Studies. Founded in 1982 by the late Professor Horst W. Drescher, the series originally focused on literature and translation studies. Current editor, Professor Klaus Peter Müller, has since extended its scope into the fields of cultural and media studies, a widening of range and perspective that is also reflected in the faculty's bi-annual Scottish Studies Newsletter. The series aims to explore both Scotland's turbulent past and its intriguing present flux in its culture, society, politics, economy, media, art, and literature. In order to evaluate their suitability for publication, all texts submitted will be peer-reviewed by the general editor as well as by members of the editorial board. Poznań Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik

The series Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik was established in 2011 by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and, until 2018, has been co-edited by Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer and Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik. From 2019 on, Prof. Maciej Karpiński is co-editing the series under the new title Poznan Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. The series has been established in order to disseminate research by publishing monographs and edited collections of texts from the broad field of Applied Linguistics. The thematic range of books includes foreign language teaching, multilingualism, translation studies, linguistic aspects of culture, intercultural communication and mediation, multimodal communication, applications of spoken and written language resources and technology, application-oriented studies in psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and pragmalinguistics. The series is intended to reflect and promote new trends in the applications of linguistic knowledge. We encourage contributions from young researchers and interdisciplinary studies, texts presenting new empirical research as well as new theoretical approaches. Die Reihe Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik wurde 2011 von Prof. Waldemar Pfeiffer begründet und bis 2018 von ihm in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Camilla Badstübner-Kizik herausgegeben. Seit 2019 ist Prof. Maciej Karpiński als Mitherausgeber tätig, der Titel wurde erweitert in Poznań Studies in Applied Linguistics / Posener Beiträge zur Angewandten Linguistik. Die Reihe setzt sich das Ziel, Monographien, thematische Sammel- und Konferenzbände aus dem weit verstandenen Gebiet der Angewandten Linguistik einer internationalen wissenschaftlichen Diskussion zugänglich zu machen. Die thematische Spannweite umfasst innovative Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Fremdsprachendidaktik, Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung und Translationswissenschaften sowie Forschungen zu linguistischen Aspekten von Literatur-, Medien- und Kulturwissenschaften, Interkulturalität und Mediation, multimodaler Kommunikation, schriftlicher wie mündlicher Sprachlichkeit und Sprachtechnologie. Eingeschlossen sind anwendungsorientierte Forschungen in den Bereichen der Psycho-, Sozio- und Pragmalinguistik. Bevorzugt publiziert werden sowohl empirisch gestützte wie auch theorieorientierte Arbeiten jüngerer Autorinnen und Autoren, die inter- und transdisziplinäre Ansätze verfolgen und innovative Forschungsimpulse setzen. Studien zur Translation und Interkulturellen Kommunikation in der Romania

La série de livres est conçue comme plateforme d’orientation pluridisciplinaire, destinée aux études des domaines de la translation et de la communication interculturelle. Elle comprend autant des monographies que des recueils et des actes de colloque. Dans cette collection sont publiés des travaux qui font avancer la réflexion théorique, mais des études empiriques portant sur une problématique particulière sont également bienvenues. Le spectre thématique prend en compte la complexité de la communication interculturelle. Outre que des travaux des domaines de la linguistique, de la traductologie et des sciences de la communication, la collection prend en considération la pertinence des travaux d’orientation pratique du domaine de la recherche sur l’interculturalité. En ce qui concerne le domaine de la translation, la série comprend des études portant sur des aspects de la linguistique comparée ainsi que des analysés détaillées sur des langues de spécialité, la translation audiovisuelle, la didactique de la translation et la traduction automatisée. Die Reihe ist als interdisziplinär orientierte Publikationsplattform für Studien zur Translation und Interkulturellen Kommunikation konzipiert, wobei das Format sowohl Monographien als auch Sammelbände bzw. Tagungsakten umfassen kann. In der Reihe erscheinen einerseits Beiträge, die die Theoriebildung voranbringen, aber auch empirisch angelegte Einzelstudien sind willkommen. Das Themenspektrum berücksichtigt die Komplexität interkultureller Kommunikationsprozesse, so dass neben textlinguistisch orientierten Arbeiten aus dem Bereich der Sprach-, Übersetzungs- und Kommunikationswissenschaft auch Reflexionen aus kulturtheoretischer Perspektive und praktisch ausgerichtete Beiträge aus dem Gebiet der Interkulturalitätsforschung relevant sind. Im Bereich der Translationswissenschaft sind Beiträge zu zentralen Aspekten übersetzungsbezogener Sprach- und Kulturwissenschaft und zur kontrastiven Linguistik ebenso willkommen wie Detailstudien zu Fachsprachen, Audiovisueller Translation, Translationsdidaktik und maschineller Übersetzung.

Published by the expert for translation and terminology, Professor Michèle Cooke, the series is dedicated to studies in the field of philosophy of translation, the bioethics of intercultural communication and the public understanding of science.

InnTrans. Innsbrucker Beiträge zu Sprache, Kultur und Translation

Die "Innsbrucker Beiträge zu Sprache, Kultur und Translation" bieten ein Forum zur Diskussion von Fragen aus der Linguistik, insbesondere der Anglistik und Romanistik. Zentrale Themen der Reihe sind dabei Studien aus dem Bereich der Übersetzungswissenschaft und Philologie. Ferner werden auch Tagungsbände publiziert. Die Herausgeber sind Mediziner und Sprachwissenschaftler u.a. mit den Schwerpunkten Translationale Neurogastroenterologie und Translationsdidaktik.

German Studies in America publishes research across the field of German studies in the broadest sense, from literary criticism to cultural studies. The editors welcome scholarly work that takes an innovative approach to German, Swiss, or Austrian history, literature, politics, philosophy, national identity, religion, popular culture, film, music, and/or visual art. We are also eager to consider projects that adopt interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches as well as studies with theoretical approaches including psychoanalysis, gender studies, feminism, Marxism, critical race studies, etc. We publish scholarly monographs, translations and edited volumes of essays in both German and English. This series adheres to the highest academic standards and is peer reviewed.

Studies in Philosophy, History of Ideas and Modern Societies

Until the publication of volume 21 the title of the series was "Polish Contemporary Philosophy and Philosophical Humanities". The series aspires to present a wide and relevant overview of best Polish works in philosophy and philosophical parts of the major fields of the humanities: political and social sciences, history, religious studies or what is named in Poland "the history of ideas". The subsequent editions of books within this series are either re-editions of the works previously published in non-Polish versions, or new translations from Polish. Some books contain extended works, other ones provide collections of smaller papers. Some of the authors presented in the series are widely acknowledged and regarded to be the "classics" of Polish intellectual life in the second half of the 20th Century, others are recognized as outstanding professors today. The quality and fame of the works and authors presented in the series are the only criteria for inclusion. The series is open to all streams of Polish philosophy: from analytical philosophy, through phenomenology and hermeneutics, to existential or religious philosophies. Also the word "philosophy" should be understood very widely in this case.
